I'm new in 'town', but I'm good at what I do. I am a writer by trade. I love to help people by editing their work and/or helping them streamline work bogged down by too much 'verbal clutter'. If you're looking for help, send your work to me free of charge. Only 1-3 pages, please. As for references, the following is a sample of my work. It's the first 3 paragraphs of my favorite piece:

Dusk. Fireflies flicker on and off provocatively. A silvery moth tangles itself in the spangle of thin webbing hanging across the arched doorway of the big red barn.
The woman watches it struggle, her head tilted back at a right angle, arms curled protectively around the single sheet of paper pressed against her heart.
The moth is completely trapped now, it's wings crushed beneath layers of silken beauty. A spider, blue black and gracefully enterprising, waits patiently for the moth to stop struggling. It waits and rocks gently back and forth, pausing occasionally to clean itself.
The woman lowers her head, brushing tendrils of pepper grey hair from tear moist cheeks. "Was it like that for him?" She asks the dog curled protectively at her feet. A tail beats the ground but there is no answer to her question.

  • I love to read books, especially ones about time travel
  • Most of the time, I adore animals. I have four dogs. My husband calls them the mouse, the rat, the guinea pig and the spotted horse. That might have something to do with their size, considering they range from squirt to giant killer. Tho, I must admit, when I let all of them in at once, I often find myself quoting a famous writer: "What ho, the thundering herd". Go figure...
  • Next to writing, my passion is God and soul winning. I work in prison ministry with women and men, preaching/teaching and ministering in song. [if you're interested in it too, contact me!]
  • I love to create things. I hate to follow recipes or directions. I'd rather make up my own. Naturally, this has lead to explosions and property damage on occasion, but I've never been arrested. [don't freak out, now...i was only joking! Tho, there was this ONE time.....]
  • I am absolutely fascinated by the inner workings of people's minds. Their motivations, their logic or lack thereof, utterly captures my imagination. How about you?
